Why the system is different

Engineered to address three long-standing natural marble challenges

EcoMarble™ does not change the visible stone surface: it keeps genuine natural marble while adding a reinforced cementitious composite backing designed to improve panel behaviour in transport, handling and installation.

Alkali-related staining / efflorescence

The backing acts as a separation layer between the marble face and cementitious substrate, helping reduce moisture and alkaline migration that can contribute to staining.

Yellowing / discolouration

Reduced substrate-to-stone moisture and contaminant migration helps address one of the common causes of discolouration in light-coloured natural marble.

Cracking & fragility

The composite structure and reinforcement improve panel integrity and handling practicality, helping reduce cracking and breakage risk compared with unsupported thin stone.

Performance depends on stone type, substrate, adhesive, waterproofing, detailing and installation method. Project-specific assessment remains required.

EcoMarble™ is not a printed marble-look panel and is not positioned as engineered stone. Natural veining, colour variation and mineral character remain visible because the face is genuine natural marble.

What is an EcoMarble panel?

EcoMarble combines an approximately 4.5 mm genuine natural marble face with an approximately 2 mm composite backing to create a nominal 6.5 mm panel. The standard Australian-market format is 1200 × 600 mm.

Does EcoMarble contain crystalline silica?

The cementitious composite backing contains 0% crystalline silica. Natural marble may contain naturally occurring crystalline silica, so the complete panel is not described as silica-free. See the responsible-use guidance.
